Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our facilities and manufacturing equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable environment by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and executing repairs with precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and technical skills in a fast-paced setting that values innovation and teamwork.

 Work hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. As well as some Saturday’s from 10am to 2pm.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance on assembly machinery, heavy equipment, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
  • Repairs: Perform welding, electrical wiring, and mechanical adjustments to restore equipment functionality swiftly.
  • Automation: Operate and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to monitor and adjust automated processes.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Facility Upkeep: Assist with painting, carpentry, and general cleaning to uphold safety standards and aesthetic quality.
  • Leadership: Supervise or assist small teams during projects, ensuring safety compliance and technical accuracy.
  • Technical Literacy: Read and interpret complex schematics and technical diagrams to implement solutions efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Core Experience: Proven experience in facilities or manufacturing maintenance with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Machinery Expertise: Required hands-on experience with assembly machinery, heavy machinery, or similar industrial equipment.
  • Industry Preference: Direct experience with door assembly and door manufacturing machinery is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding techniques and the use of diagnostic tools (e.g., ohmmeters) is essential.
  • Automation Knowledge: Knowledge of PLCs (programming or troubleshooting) is highly desirable.
  • Schematics: Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings accurately.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Leadership: Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, working at heights, or in confined spaces safely.
